An Expression video
顔などの表情の写真を沢山集めて時間軸に並べその時間軸に沿って、モニターの表面に接着した光センサーから、画面が暗いと高音、画面が明るいと低音で、リアルタイムに音が生成される。時間と共に、そのシステムが観客に分かる作品
This video art was presented at the New Video: Japan exhibition of New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). In this video art music is automatically generated from the sampled images of various facial expressions by synchronizing with the brightness of the image using an optical sensor. Rather than constructing a visual image, it is aimed that the system gradually exposes itself. It has a structure in which high sound is generated when the brightness of the image becomes low and low sound is generated when the brightness becomes high. Five kinds of sound sources are prepared and controlled by Roland’s SYSTEM 100 analog synthesizer. As the transition of the images was so dramatic, the music sounds like a radical creature. 音楽 近藤 達郎
ニューヨーク近代美術館の企画展で発表した作品。光センサーを用いて映像の明度とシンクロさせて、様々な顔の表情のサンプリング映像の明度から音楽を自動生成した作品。ヴィジュアルなイメージの構築ではなく、次第にシステム自体が露出する。映像の明度をが下がると高音が生成され明度を上げると、低音が生成される構造を持つ。音源は、5種類用意し、ローランドのSYSTEM 100というアナログシンセサイザーでコントロールしている。映像の移り変わりが激しいので、音楽はラジカルな生き物のように仕上がった。
